Oudtshoorn Campus

Ms Thabisa La Fleur: Oudtshoorn Campus Manager

Oudtshoorn Campus

Oudtshoorn Technical College was established after the local authorities had to close down the Commercial High School and that infrastructure became available. Community leaders identified the opportunity to utilize the building to offer tertiary education, alongside the TVET-programmes, to local and surrounding disadvantaged, less privileged and poor communities.

As a TVET institution, the Campus firmly believes in the developmental value of career training through effective partnerships. Partnerships have been secured to ensure accredited, quality and affordable education.

Attention is given to Skills and Learnerships, thereby advancing the communities towards fully accredited qualifications. All the programmes offered at the Campus are SAQA (South African Qualification Authority) accredited. Academic staff are regularly advised on business trends by relevant industries through a system of advisory committees representing the business community.

The Campus Staff and Management pride themselves in being able to offer affordable training opportunities which have the same academic value of other recognised tertiary institutions. A student counselling programme ensures individual attention for students.
