Senior Management Team

Dr Tercia Terblanche: Principal

Dr Tercia Terblanche, the Principal of the College, is mainly responsible for liaison regarding Governance issues with the College Council, Strategic Planning of the College, monitoring the implementation of the Academic, Occupational, Financial and Corporate Services functions on an operational level, Quality Management, Risk Management and liaison with external stakeholders, including the DHET, SETAs, Business and Industry.

Dr Tercia is dedicated, loyal and hardworking in all her endeavours in her career and work. Under her leadership, the Academic Branch received the Minister’s Award for Best Performing College in NCV for 2016 Academic Year at a ceremony during 2017. Under her stewardship, SCC was named the first College in the Western Cape to develop and implement an Academic Support Strategy funded by DANIDA (SESD).

Ms Gezina De Jager: Deputy Principal Finance

Gezina De Jager, Deputy Principal of Finance, is responsible for processes and procedures such as Supply Chain Management, Stock and Assets Control and oversees that credible financial systems are implemented which leads to sound financial management and unqualified annual financial statements. She strives on effective budgeting processes and efficient internal controls.

Gezina obtained her B Com-degree at the University of North-West and then joined the manufacturing industry in Newcastle, KZN, at a steel manufacturing giant, named Mittal, where she became very involved in Cost Accounting and later in Management Accounting. She also obtained her Higher Education Diploma in Economy, Accounting and Cost Accounting. Gezina realised her passion with the amalgamation of the Newcastle Training Centre and Majuba TVET College became a reality.

After ten years’ experience in the manufacturing industry and the private sector, she embarked on a career in Education and Training and had joined Majuba TVET College as an Assistant Director: Finance where she played a pivoting role in bringing industry to the education sector.

Mr Mzukisi Gcuwa: Deputy Principal Corporate Services

Mzukisi Gcuwa, the Deputy Principal: Corporate Services, is responsible for Strategic Planning and Governance in Human Resources Management, Information Technology and Communication, General Administration, Infrastructure, Fleet Management and Occupational Health & Safety. Surrounded by a very talented, hardworking and dedicated team who continually contribute and provide technical assistance and support in assisting him to fulfil this portfolio and make it a success.

Over the past ten years, Mzukisi has served in several senior positions in Human Resources Management ranging from Organisational Development, Talent Management, Training and Development, Transformation Management and Labour Relations. He has also served in a number of Boards where he aided in Governance for various portfolios.

He loves reading, walking hiking trails and to challenge himself to try out new things.

Ms Carmen Phillips-Moorcroft: Acting Deputy Principal Registration Services

Carmen is appointed as the Campus Head of Mossel Bay Campus. Her core responsibility is the implementation and management of effective Teaching and Learning systems. In addition to that, she is responsible for the management of human resources on the Campus as well as Campus infrastructure and facilities.

Under her leadership, Mossel Bay Campus won the Minister’s Award for Best Performing College in NC (V) Programmes in 2017. The College was identified to establish a Centre of Specialisation in Bricklaying in Mosselbay.

Carmen believes in building on the vision that education serves as a keystone in improving society and building better futures for all. She is committed to her core values of excellence, ethics and dignity.

She participates in marathons and enjoys recreational activities with her family.

Mr Chumani Webber: Acting Deputy Principal: Academic

Chumani was appointed as the Campus Head of Bitou Campus in 2018. He has been part of the South Cape TVET College family for many years and has occupied different supervisory positions.

His immediate responsibility is to manage and lead Students and Staff to enable effective Teaching and Learning on Campus.

Chumani enjoys reading newspapers, watching sports/news and playing club cricket.
