EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS COURSE

Provision of a formal qualification that will equip and prepare an individual effectively to pursue an opportunity in the many different work areas of Electricity or Electronics. Examples are domestic installations and maintenance repairing and maintenance of consumer equipment, installation and maintenance of business premises and the functioning and maintenance of high voltage electrical networks within a company like Eskom. This course also serves as a basis to going further qualifications at other tertiary institutions.

Requirements for N1

  • Grade 9 with a minimum pass of 50% in Mathematics
  • Obtain a minimum of 60% for Numeracy in the College placement test
  • Obtain a minimum of 50% for Literacy in the College placement test

Requirements for N2

  • N1 (3 subjects passed) or Grade 12 with Mathematics & Physical Science
  • A minimum 60% for Numeracy in the College placement test for Grade 12 students
  • A minimum 50% for Literacy in the College placement test for grade 12 students

Requirements for N3

  • N2 (3 subjects passed)

Duration

  • One year
  • Each level is 12 weeks
